Intro. Dr. I-485 turns a stack of documents into a complete, USCIS-ready adjustment-of-status package in two phases. First, your specialist generates the full package — checking eligibility and producing auto-filled forms, a cover letter, and a filing checklist. Then you polish and finalize using built-in AI tools before you download and file. This guide walks the whole generate-then-polish workflow end to end.
The two phases at a glance
Phase | What happens | Who drives |
1 — Generate | Upload documents → eligibility check → complete package built (forms, cover letter, checklist) | Your Dr. I-485 specialist |
2 — Polish & finalize | Edit, form-fill, translate, and review RFE risk → download | You, with built-in AI tools |
Phase 1: Generate
Step 1 — Upload your documents
Start by uploading your supporting documents: passport, I-94, I-140 approval notice, birth certificate, photos, financial records, and (when ready) your I-693 medical. You can drag and drop files, upload from your phone, or add them one at a time. See Article 3 for the full checklist.
Step 2 — Eligibility check
Dr. I-485 reviews what you've uploaded and confirms the fundamentals — that you have a qualifying immigrant petition and that your priority date is current under the applicable Visa Bulletin chart. If something's missing or your date isn't current yet, you'll be told before you go further, so you don't file prematurely.
Step 3 — Package generation
Once eligibility checks out, Dr. I-485 generates your complete I-485 Kit:
Auto-filled USCIS forms — I-485, plus I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (Advance Parole) for the concurrent bundle, populated from your uploaded documents
Cover letter organizing the filing for the USCIS officer
Filing checklist so nothing is left out
Phase 2: Polish & finalize
This is where the all-in-one advantage shows. Everything generated in Phase 1 lands in an editing workspace with built-in AI tools:
Document editor — review and refine any letter or narrative
USCIS form-filling — check and correct every field on your I-485, I-765, and I-131
Translation — translate any foreign-language document with a certification
RFE-risk review — an AI pass that flags common gaps and inconsistencies that draw a Request for Evidence, so you can fix them before filing
Take as long as you need. Nothing is charged until you download.
Download and file
When your package looks right, download it — you pay the flat $299 at this step. Then assemble it with your original documents and the separate USCIS government filing fees, and mail or file with USCIS.

FAQ
