Intro. Your petition contains some of the most sensitive documents you own — your passport, your CV, your unpublished research, your recommendation letters, your salary history. We built QuickFiling for researchers, physicians, investors, and engineers who take privacy seriously, and we hold ourselves to that standard. This article explains, plainly and completely, how your data is stored, who can see it, what we do (and never do) with it, and how you can export or delete it at any time.
The short version
Every workspace is isolated — your documents are never pooled with another user's.
We do not train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model on your petition data. The company does not use fine-tuned models trained on user data.
Your files are encrypted in transit and at rest.
Only you (and anyone you explicitly invite, such as a reviewing attorney) can see your workspace.
Your data is not shared with third parties without your consent.
You can export or permanently delete your workspace and all its documents whenever you want.
Workspace isolation
Each petition you build lives in its own isolated workspace — a private container for your uploads, the AI's analysis, your drafts, and your final package. Data does not cross between workspaces: not between your own workspaces, and never between different users. The specialist working on your petition (Dr. I-485, Dr. NIW, Dr. EB1A, Dr. O-1, or Dr. EB-5) reads only the evidence inside that one workspace to set your strategy and generate your documents. It has no visibility into anyone else's case.
We do NOT train AI on your petition data
This is the question our audience asks most, so we want to be unambiguous: QuickFiling does not use your petition data to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model. The company does not use fine-tuned models trained on user data. Your CV, your publications, your letters, and your drafts are used for one purpose only — to build your petition inside your workspace. They are not added to a training set, not used to improve responses for other users, and not shared with third parties for model development. Your unpublished research and personal history stay yours.
Encryption and storage
Your documents are encrypted in transit (TLS) when you upload them and at rest while they are stored. Files and generated documents are held on secured cloud infrastructure with access restricted to the systems that operate your workspace. We apply the principle of least privilege internally: access to production data is limited, logged, and granted only where operationally necessary to run and support the service.
Who can see your workspace — and no sharing without consent
By default, only you can see your workspace. No other QuickFiling user can access it, and your data is not shared with third parties without your consent. Access is extended to another person only when you choose to extend it — for example, if you opt into an optional Petition Review or Attorney-Led service, the attorney is granted access to the specific workspace you send, and only for that purpose. Our support and engineering teams do not browse your petition content; when you request support, you control what you share with us.
Email-to-workspace ingestion privacy
Every workspace has a private ingestion address in the form <workspace_id>@mail.quickfiling.us. Anything you email to that address is routed directly into that one workspace and treated exactly like a drag-and-drop upload — encrypted, isolated, and used only to build your petition. The address contains a unique, hard-to-guess workspace identifier, so it isn't something an outsider can guess. Treat it like a private key: only forward documents to the address for the workspace they belong to, and don't post it publicly. If you ever believe your ingestion address has been exposed, contact support and we can rotate it.
Data retention
Your workspace and its documents are retained so that you can return to your petition, regenerate documents, or respond to an RFE later — a real convenience given how long immigration timelines run. Your data persists until you delete it, or until account closure under our published retention terms. You are always in control: nothing about our retention approach requires you to keep data you no longer want.
How to export your data
You can take your data with you at any time:
Open the workspace you want to export.
Go to Workspace Settings → Data & Privacy.
Select Export to download your uploaded source files and your generated documents.
Your final petition package is also always available as a downloadable PDF once generated.
How to delete your data
To permanently remove a workspace and everything in it:
Open the workspace.
Go to Workspace Settings → Data & Privacy.
Select Delete workspace and confirm.
Deletion is permanent and removes your uploaded documents and generated drafts for that workspace. If you'd like your entire account and all associated workspaces removed, contact support and we'll process the request.
FAQ
Do you train your AI on my documents?
No. We do not train, fine-tune, or improve any model using your petition data, and we do not use fine-tuned models trained on user data. Your documents are used only to build your own petition inside your own workspace.
Can other QuickFiling users see my petition?
No. Workspaces are isolated. No other user can access your workspace.
Is my data shared with third parties?
Not without your consent. Access is extended only when you choose it — for example, by opting into an attorney review.
Is my email-to-workspace address safe to use?
Yes. It routes only to your workspace and contains a unique identifier. Keep it private, like a password.
What happens to my data if I stop using QuickFiling?
It's retained so you can come back to your case, and you can export or permanently delete it whenever you choose.
