Intro. Your Dr. NIW workspace is where your entire NIW petition gets built — from your first uploaded file to a single, ready-to-file PDF. It works in two phases: first your specialist generates the complete petition from your evidence, then you polish and finalize it with built-in AI tools before you download. This is a hands-on tutorial for actually operating the workspace. (For the strategy behind an NIW case — the legal prongs, what makes strong evidence — see the Complete Guide.) Everything here is free to build; you pay the flat $749 only when you download the finished package (USCIS fees are separate).

Open your workspace

From your dashboard, choose the Dr. NIW specialist. That one click automatically initializes your Dr. NIW workspace and opens it. On open, Dr. NIW greets you and walks you through a short in-workspace tutorial so you know where everything lives.

Everything happens in this one browser tab — uploading, generating, editing, and downloading. There's nothing to install.

Upload your evidence (4 ways)

Upload your CV first. Before anything else, send Dr. NIW your CV or resume. Dr. NIW reads it, identifies your field and career stage, and generates a personalized evidence checklist tailored to your case. Don't pre-sort or rename files first — just upload what you have.

You can add evidence four ways:

Method

How it works

Best for

Drag-and-drop

Drop files one by one into the chat

A few key documents

Batch upload

Upload many files at once — even a .zip

Clearing a big backlog fast

Paste a URL

Paste links (patents, news) into the chat; the system downloads them automatically

Online sources you can't easily save

Email-to-workspace

Forward evidence emails to your workspace address, <workspace_id>@mail.quickfiling.us (e.g. [email protected]) — one at a time or in bulk as attachments

Evidence already sitting in your inbox

You'll find your workspace's unique ID and email address inside the workspace.

What happens after each upload

Every time you add a document, Dr. NIW automatically:

  • Categorizes it into the right part of your case.

  • Analyzes prestigious entities it mentions — conferences, journals, awards — and may search reputation data online to quantify their standing.

  • Updates your progress icons so you can see where the case stands at a glance:

Then Dr. NIW tells you the single most important thing to add next. Follow that prompt — it keeps you moving toward a complete case instead of guessing what matters.

Use Citation Analysis

If you're a researcher, your citation record is powerful quantified evidence. To capture it:

  1. Open the navigation menu and click Citation Analysis.

  2. Choose your workspace.

  3. Enter your Google Scholar profile URL. (If you don't have one yet, create a Scholar profile first, then come back.)

Dr. NIW produces a detailed citation analysis that feeds directly into your petition as hard, quantified evidence of your impact.

Generate your petition (the phases)

Once your evidence is in, Dr. NIW runs the full generation phase. You don't have to manage these steps — Dr. NIW moves through them in order, asking you focused questions as needed:

  1. Evidence collection — gathering and organizing your materials.

  2. Case review & strategy — assessing your strongest angles.

  3. Reputation research — quantifying the standing of your evidence.

  4. Proposed endeavor & future plans — defining the work you'll continue in the U.S.

  5. National-importance & substantial-merit research — building the case for why it matters.

  6. Recommendation letters — drafting and incorporating letters.

  7. Petition letter — writing the full argument across 8 sections.

  8. Pre-submission RFE-risk review — checking for weak spots before you file.

  9. Assembly — combining everything into a single, ready-to-file assembled.pdf.

When Dr. NIW asks a question, answer it directly — those answers shape the petition. Add recommendation letters as soon as they're confirmed so they land in the right place.

Polish & finalize in the AI Editor

This is the second phase. After the petition is generated, the built-in AI Editor lets you review, refine, and finalize everything — all in the same browser tab:

  • Edit evidence PDFs — highlight, cut unneeded pages, and annotate.

  • Fill your USCIS forms — the AI fills them for you.

  • Revert anything — full version history means any change can be undone safely.

Take your time here. Nothing is final until you download.

Do's and don'ts

Do

Don't

Upload what you have, not what feels "perfect"

Reorganize or rename files (it breaks citation links)

Answer Dr. NIW's focused questions directly

Manually edit the auto-generated Index of Exhibits

Add recommendation letters as soon as they're confirmed

Upload the same document twice

Let Dr. NIW guide the order of work

Ask for placeholder or made-up data

Pausing and resuming

You don't need to finish in one sitting. Dr. NIW re-reads your workspace at the start of each session and resumes exactly where you left off. Come and go as your evidence comes together.

Download your package

When your petition is complete and polished, download the finished package. Building it costs nothing — the flat $749 applies only at download. USCIS filing fees are separate and paid directly to the government.

FAQ

Do I have to sort my files before uploading?

No. Upload what you have and let Dr. NIW categorize everything. Reorganizing files yourself can break citation links.

What if I don't have a Google Scholar profile?

Create one first, then run Citation Analysis with your profile URL. It's worth doing — your citation record becomes quantified evidence.

Is this "an AI petition"?

No. Dr. NIW generates your complete petition from your real evidence, and then you polish and finalize it yourself with the built-in AI Editor before download. It's an all-in-one, two-phase workspace — not a one-click generator.

When do I pay?

Only when you download the finished package. Everything up to that point is free. The price is a flat $749, and USCIS fees are separate.

Can I stop and come back later?

Yes. Dr. NIW resumes where you left off each session.

Can I email evidence instead of uploading?

Yes — forward it to your workspace email (<workspace_id>@mail.quickfiling.us), individually or in bulk as attachments. Find the address inside your workspace.
